Dean Kimball Allen

OGDEN, Utah -- Dean Kimball Allen, 82, passed away Monday, April 4, 2005, of complications from pneumonia.

Dean was born Aug. 7, 1922, in Hyrum, Utah, a son of Donald James Allen and Sarah Mabel Allen.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dean enjoyed 59 wonderful, loving years with his wife, raising their family which he loved and cared for so very much. Dean enjoyed the outdoors with his sons in their special spot up the Left-Hand of Blacksmith Fork Canyon and looked so forward to his twice-a-year trips up the Left-Hand with his brothers to reminisce about all the good old times they had and enjoy a plate of Dad's wonderful cooking.

He joined the U.S. Navy and served honorably during World War II as a gunner on the USS Shubrick in the European Theater at Normandy and Okinawa, where he was disabled and he received the Purple Heart.

Dean worked for Northern Utah Glass for 36 years in the Auto Glass Shop as an installer and was the shop manager when he retired in 1993. Dean also worked for Charley Miller Auto Body in Logan, Utah.

Surviving are his wife, Jessie; three sons and two daughters, Richard D. Allen (Elaine) of Roy, Utah, Jeffrey Kim Allen of Ogden, Michael Jay Allen (Kathy) of Rogue River, Ore., Sandy Gould (Lynn) of Roy and Kristie Goodwin (Wayne) of Clinton, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Darrell Jay Allen (Helen) of Ogden and Paul Ray Allen (Earlene) of Bountiful, Utah; and one sister, Ruth Reeder (Russ) of Hyde Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Vernice Allen; two sisters, Margene Robison and Lenore Allen; one brother, Lloyd Allen; and grandson, Danny Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friend and family may call from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the mortuary.

Dad we all LOVE YOU so much and will miss you dearly.
